ADI’s Jan and Tim awarded a ‘Barker’

Following an enthusiastically received screening of Lion Ark at Drury University, Springfield, Missouri, ADI’s President and Vice President were presented with THE DRURY UNIVERSITY FORUM ON ANIMALS RIGHTS BOB BARKER AWARD FOR EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENT FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS.

The Forum, funded by TV legend and philanthropist Bob Barker, includes Drury’s innovative Animal Studies minor, one of the first in the US. The award was presented by Patricia McEachern, Dorothy Jo Barker Endowed Professor of Animal Rights and Director of Drury University Forum on Animal Rights and a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics.

Jan and Tim described the award as a huge honour, made extra special by Bob Barker’s support for ADI’s work – especially ensuring we could save the Bolivian circus animals in Operation Lion Ark. Lion Ark features Bob Barker giving a moving address at Congress, launching the bill on wild animal circuses. The award is also important because of ADI’s commitment to education and awareness for changing the way animals are treated.
